Privacy Policy
Monerri Studio ("we", "us", "our") is the trading name of the app development studio operated by its owner in the United Kingdom. We are committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
This policy applies to all apps published by Monerri Studio and to this website (monerristudio.com). Please read it carefully.
1. Who we are
Monerri Studio is the data controller for personal data collected
through our apps and website. You can contact us at:
support@monerristudio.com
2. What data we collect
Depending on which app you use, we may collect:
-
>Account information – name, email address,
username, and password (stored securely and never in plain text).
>Profile information – any optional details you
choose to add to your profile such as location, bio, or preferences.
>Photographs and media – images you upload or
capture within the app, used only for the purpose you submitted them
for (e.g. profile photos, content creation). These are never shared
with third parties without your explicit consent.
>Payment information – where an app supports
in-app purchases or transactions, payments are processed by Apple
(via the App Store) or a third-party payment processor (such as
Stripe). We do not store your full card details on our servers at
any time.
>Usage data – anonymised data about how you use
the app (e.g. features used, session length) to help us improve the
product. This does not identify you personally.
>Device data – device type, operating system
version, and app version, collected for crash reporting and
compatibility purposes only.
>Communications – if you contact us by email,
we retain those communications to respond to and resolve your
query.
3. How we use your data
We use your personal data only for the following purposes:
-
>To provide, operate, and maintain our apps and services.
>To create and manage your account.
>To process payments and manage transactions where applicable.
>To send essential service communications (e.g. password resets,
account notifications). We do not send marketing emails without your
explicit opt-in consent.
>To improve app performance, fix bugs, and develop new
features.
>To comply with our legal obligations.
4. Legal basis for processing
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases:
-
>Contract – processing necessary to provide the
service you have signed up for.
>Legitimate interests – improving our apps and
keeping them secure, where this does not override your rights.
>Legal obligation – where we are required to
process data to comply with UK law.
>Consent – for any optional data collection
(e.g. marketing communications, optional analytics). You may
withdraw consent at any time.
5. Photographs and sensitive media
Where an app allows you to upload photographs or capture images:
-
>Images are stored securely and used only for the stated purpose
within that app.
>We do not use your photographs to train AI models.
>We do not share your photographs with third parties except where
required to deliver the service (e.g. hosting on a secure cloud
storage provider).
>You may request deletion of your photographs at any time by
contacting us or using the in-app delete function where
available.
6. Financial transactions
Where our apps support payments or financial transactions:
-
>All payments processed through Apple's App Store are governed
by Apple's own privacy policy and terms.
>Where we use a third-party payment processor (e.g. Stripe),
your payment details are entered directly into their secure
environment. We receive only a transaction confirmation and, where
relevant, the last four digits of your card for reference
purposes.
>We maintain transaction records as required by UK financial and
tax regulations.
>We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL) for all data
transmitted between our apps and our servers.
7. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:
-
>Service providers – trusted third parties who
assist us in operating our services (e.g. cloud hosting, payment
processing, crash analytics). They are contractually bound to
protect your data and may not use it for any other purpose.
>Legal authorities – if required by law, court
order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or
others.
8. Data retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary:
-
>Account data is retained for the lifetime of your account and
deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
>Transaction records are retained for 7 years in line with HMRC
requirements.
>Support communications are retained for up to 2 years.
>Anonymised usage analytics are retained indefinitely as they
cannot be used to identify you.
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
-
>Access – request a copy of the personal data
we hold about you.
>Rectification – ask us to correct inaccurate
or incomplete data.
>Erasure – ask us to delete your data where
there is no legitimate reason for us to continue holding it.
>Restriction – ask us to restrict processing of
your data in certain circumstances.
>Portability – request your data in a
structured, commonly used format.
>Objection – object to processing based on
legitimate interests.
>Withdraw consent – at any time, where
processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@monerristudio.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
10. Cookies
Our website (monerristudio.com) uses only essential cookies required for the site to function. We do not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies without your consent.
11. Children's privacy
Some of our apps may be designed for use by or in connection with younger users. Where an app is directed at users under 13, we do not knowingly collect personal data from children without verifiable parental consent. Where an app targets users aged 13–17, we take additional steps to limit data collection and ensure age-appropriate privacy protections are in place. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.
12. International transfers
Your data is primarily stored and processed within the UK and European Economic Area (EEA). Where any third-party service provider processes data outside the UK/EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (e.g. UK adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses).
13. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. These include encrypted storage, secure transmission (TLS), and restricted access controls. However, no system is completely infallible and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or by email where we hold your address. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
